MISSION:

Our mission is to achieve peace and overcome negative sentiment that exists between many ordinary people of the United States, such as in Pensacola and many ordinary people in the Middle East such as in Saudi Arabia. Our goal is to end senseless acts of hostility and terrorism that target the people of the United States and other people in the world and to encourage U.S. government foreign policies that help reduce anger against the U.S. people and their allies throughout the world as much as possible. We accomplish our goal by engaging in face to face meetings meetings between delegations from both countries that are comprised mostly of ordinary people including teachers, businesses owners, religious representatives and only as many government and military representatives as may be needed to help facilitate such meetings. In order to achieve our goals we will work together to develop and implement plans of action in our respective communities while sharing from the heart and speaking openly and candidly and listening to each other with tolerance and patience in as respectful ways as possible when discussing controversial issues such differences in popular ideologies, religious beliefs, ethics, values, government and legal frameworks. We believe that open and honest discussions are the foundation of our efforts and that everyone must do their best to speak without intentionally trying to be offensive and listen to each other no matter how difficult or offensive the words that are being spoken may appear to the listeners.

BACKGROUND:

The terrorist shooting at NAS Pensacola in Florida on December 6, 2019 has sparked anger among the people of Pensacola Florida and others around the United States that is creating a public safety problem involving both the people of Pensacola and Saudi military pilots who live in Pensacola while training at NAS Pensacola. The majority of people in Pensacola no longer want Saudi military pilots to train at the base and are asking the U.S. military to relocate the training of Saudi pilots outside of the United States and the U.S. Military views the request from the public as a threat to their entire international pilot exchange program and the social and lucrative financial benefits that result from the training. The problems with the training of the Saudi pilots in Pensacola have lead to the creation of this petition to the President of the United States:

PROPOSAL:

The U.S. Government and Military have been unable to act quickly enough to address the public safety issue raised by the community and may be unwilling to relocate the Saudi military pilots regardless of safety issues for various reasons. In order to help quell hostilities in the short term and potentially for the long term between the citizens of Pensacola and the Saudi pilots that train at NAS we propose the following:

A. The Saudi Government facilitate a meeting in Saudi Arabia from a delegation of 20 ordinary people from the U.S. composed primarily of citizens from the community of Pensacola, business owners, religious representatives, and teachers that are responsible for overseeing the petition to relocate Saudi pilots as well as one or two local government representatives. We would like a similar composition of people from Saudi Arabia with which to meet. The purpose of the meeting would be to open a dialog that lead to agreements to take specific actions in our respective communities to help us all to get along with each other and better understand and tolerate each other in spite of our differences. The specific agenda to be worked out before the meeting is arranged. These meetings are not intended for to be opportunities to highlight the efforts of politicians and the military, but rather for real people to build relationships.

B. In order to help restore a spirit of mutual support, the Pensacola delegation will propose that the Saudi Government make a donation to create a (non-denominational) community youth and adult education center in an economically challenged community in Pensacola which is specifically designed to help support a program that is being developed in the Pensacola community called Zero-To-Hero.org to overcome the problem of bullying in schools and in the adult community around the world. The rational for this specific anti-bullying program is because terrorists like the one in NAS Pensacola are bullies.

We believe that the two simple gestures by the government and people of Saudi Arabia would go a long way to restoring the relationship between Saudi Arabia, their military personal and the people of Pensacola. We believe that if nothing is done then public protests and private rejection of Saudi military personnel in Pensacola will surely increase.
